There is one little thing that is not entirely clear to me about the ASF/ASL rules.

If a model has both the ASL and ASF special rules, let's say wildwood rangers, can they then get either rule from an external source? I'm thinking about Birona's timewarp or being in base contact with a phoenix.

Under ASL (BRB 66):
'If a model has both this rule and Always Strikes First, the two cancel out and neither applies so use the model's initiative.'

So it seems that even though the rule no longer applies, the model does not lose the special rules entirely and since you can never have multiples of the same special rule (FAQ, 2 ref page66), it stands to reason that there is no way to get those rules back.

So a unit of wildwood rangers fighting a frostphoenix would not suffer from the frostaura (or whatever it's called).
Of course the other side of the coin is that Timewarp does not work either (except for the movement and attacks of course ).

So what do you guys think, am I missing something? Or would you interpret page 66 as actually losing the special rules as opposed to it just not working?

Je hebt helemaal gelijk. Special rules stacken niet. Al heb je idd 10 keer asf en 1 keer asl dan mep je nog steeds op iniative.
Zo zou ik het rulen op de toernooien waar ik judge in ieder geval.

Iets anders...uit de zelfde ASL & ASF hoek.

Basically, some places play it as ASF is still around, thus ASF models do not get re-rolls to hit vs models with both ASF and ASL. (ASF is still around and cancels also the ASF of the attacker)

Whereas others play it as ASF and ASL cancel eachother out, thus ASF models get re-rolls to hit vs models with both ASF and ASL. (ASF is canceled out and cannot cancel out the ASF of the attacker)

The argument can be made both ways.

Dat is een andere discussie die ik hier nou juist niet wilde voeren. Volgens mij is die ook al eerder hier gevoerd.
Het lijkt me ook vrij duidelijk dat je als je beide hebt niets meer hebt aan alle voor en nadelen en dat je dus alles wat er onder het kopje ASL/ASF staat moet negeren. Dat heeft niets te maken met de vraag of je de regel opnieuw kan krijgen.

Maar goed, daar wilde ik het dus juist niet over hebben

Als je 2 keer Frenzy hebt ga je ook niet 2 keer rollen voor berserker charge of krijg je 2 extra attacks.

 (Even er buiten gelaten dat veel Frenzy gevende regels en spreuken vaak met een uitzondering hierop komen).

Als ik het hier goed lees hebben mijn Swordmaster (High Elves) dus geen re-rolls omdat ze ASF en ASL hebben.
Ze hebben zelfs ook geen re-rolls als dit tegenstander ook ASL heeft.
Ze hebben dus eigenlijk nooit re-rolls.
De re-rolls zijn enkel voor modellen die geen ASL hebben.

Ze kunnen wel als eerste toeslaan als de andere speler ook ASL heeft en wij een hoger initiatief hebben.

Klopt dit?

Als jij ASL en ASF hebt, ga je inderdaad voor een tegenstander die alleen ASL heeft.

Alleen als ook mijn initiatief ook hoger is, neem ik aan

Nee. Als jij ini 1 een hebt bv met asl en asf, en hij heeft ini 8 met asl ga je nog steeds voor hem.

ASL en ASF heffen elkaar op dus je slaat op initiatief. Dus je slaat voor iemand met ASL, en voor mensen met een lager initiatief.

Mensen met ASF (en zonder ASL) slaan voor jouw, als je tegen iemand komt die ook ASL en ASF heeft dan slaat diegene met de hoogste initiatief eerst.
