Vandaag zal het bordspel (met skirmish optie) Anno Domini 1666 live gaan van Wargamer (bekend van By Fire & Sword miniatures game).

Introductie:


In Anno Domini 1666 players control competing bands - featuring the protagonists of Sienkiewicz’s Trilogy and the musketeers from the novels of Alexander Dumas. Consisting of between 5 and 12 models each, these bands try to achieve objectives presented to them by one of many scenarios. These objectives include overcoming the enemy in combat, recovering a letter, escorting a hostage, or a chase. Unlike other games, relying on brute force may not be enough to achieve victory. Often, the imposing might of Longinus Podbipięta or D’Artagnan’s unrivaled fencing skills may prove less effective than Zagłoba’s quick wits and silver tongue. Depending on the chosen scenario and the number of characters involved, the game may take from 30 to 120 minutes.
What sets it apart from other games is the replacement of dice with decks of custom cards, which may be played either from the player’s hand, or randomly from the deck. Even if capricious fate turns its back on you, there are ways (even if limited) to influence the outcome of a test. Some skills (notably Zagłoba’s famous antics) may affect the composition of a player’s hand. We especially hope you enjoy our approach to portraying fencing duels. We are historical reenactors ourselves, and we wove our own experiences into the gameplay to come up with a combat system that is both fun and realistic.
As you may have noticed, the rules do not include the scenarios, or the rules for building the bands. These will be found in the playbook. Anno Domini 1666 features two types of scenarios. One is Adventure: the focus is on fulfilling the objectives, and building the bands is streamlined so that players are not overwhelmed and can get into the action faster. The other is Battle, closer in spirit to miniature wargames. Destroying the enemy comes to the fore, players have unrestricted access to all the characters, and may tailor their bands to the preferred playstyle.

Ziet er interessant uit. Leuk dat ze die keuze geven tussen metaal en plastic.

Het project heeft ondertussen het doel behaald en er zijn 3 stretch goals geopend. De opbrengsten van Kickstarter en Wspieram worden bij elkaar opgeteld. 8)
